Seduction Motorsports has teamed up with JDRF to auction a brand new 2016 Seduction Motorsports 550 Spyder Outlaw on Bring-a-Trailer (bringatrailer.com). JDRF is the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. They exist for the millions of children, adults and families affected by this disease. Their strength lies in our exclusive focus and singular influence on the worldwide effort to stop T1D. T1D is an autoimmune disease that strikes children and adults suddenly. It has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle. You cannot prevent it—and there is currently no cure. JDRF works every single day to remove the burden of this disease—and to prevent anyone else from knowing it—by funding research, advocating for government support of research and new treatments, ensuring new therapies get to market and engaging the T1D community. They've raised $2 billion for research to date.
Orchestral Cues: First Kontakt
Production Company: Polymathus, LLC Client/Network: me! Role(s): Composer Location: Phoenix, AZ
Way back when I first purchased Kontakt Komplete, I wanted to test it out as soon as she was out of the box. So I installed it and ran straight for the French Horns (my favorite orchestral instrument) and heavy brass. I wrote this short cue to hear them and it turned out very Dark Night-ish, heh heh.
The Neighbors (2013)
Production Company: Polymathus Client/Network: IFP Phoenix Beat the Clock '13 Role(s): Composer Location: Phoenix, AZ
In this challenge we had 48 hours to conceptualize, write, cast, rehearse, shoot, score, edit and submit a short film. The film had to be 5 minutes or less. We got over zealous and couldn’t even get the final edit under 10 minutes. Nonetheless, if you want to watch my attempt to direct a film for the first time ever, watch everything. If you are here to sample the music, that mostly starts in at 07:40 with some small sound design elements in the beginning at 01:32, and closing credits lead-out at 09:29. As the the clock started, we opened the sealed letter that dictated the required genre, a line of dialog that must be stated on screen and a prop that must be seen on camera. Our required elements were: - genre: thriller OR romantic drama - line: “I can’t feel my hands.” - prop: a candle Here is a review from the folks over at Apocalypse Later
Live Piano: The Lonely Unicorn
Production Company: Polymathus, LLC Client/Network: none Role(s): Composer Location: Phoenix, AZ
One of the first pieces of music I ever put into a recording--this may have started it all! A friend was hosting a unicorn-themed fundraiser promoting a delightful and whimsical book about unicorn farming called, "Unicornomics." She commissioned art, sculpture, paintings, performace and music created for the event and with, of course, a unicorn theme. So I made this. Piano was recorded in a live one-take on my baby grand piano in-studio, then that track was brought in to the console for mixing in digital string and oboe patches.
Intros & Bumpers: Stay Focused
Production Company: Polymathus, LLC Client/Network: none Role(s): Composer Location: Phoenix, AZ
A little bumper for a corporate logo animation/intro. I wrote the cue using Kontakt Komplete's Damage Kit and other soft-synth patches. Then sprinkled in the sound design elements of the camera focus beeps and shutter snap.
Solo Piano: The River Walk
Production Company: Polymathus, LLC Client/Network: none Role(s): Composer Location: Phoenix, AZ
Here's a short cue I wrote for a trailer for a film shot in AZ back in maybe 2011? Sadly, it is yet another Arizona film still sitting on some dude's hard drive and has yet to see the light of day. So close your eyes, listen deeply and build your own movie in your mind! Solo piano recorded live and in single takes.
