Working with some fine folks from the BBC London for the next three days as location sound mixer with these cute little buggers who rattle…and bite. I might need some additional production insurance.
It was for a series airing on BBC called, “The Human Body: Secrets of Your Life Revealed” and this episode was called “Survive.” It goes into great detail, discussion and examples of how the body summons, reacts to and handles fear.
I used my full audio package for this production that lasted over 3 days in the Arizona desert. Luckily there were no surprises while filming these feisty, venomous and downright deadly creatures, but adrenaline levels were probably above my averages for a typical shoot.
The microphone seen in the cover photo is the all-powerful Sennheiser MKH416. Well, actually you can only see the boom pole and the K-Tek windscreen that covers the mic, but nevertheless, that mic is under there. Here are the components separated:
