A Brief History of Polymathus
When I founded Polymathus in November of 2012, my intent was to build the foundation for a company that matched my personality. I wanted a framework that supported my polymathic tendencies to pursue wide ranges of fields. I graduated college with degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Theatrical Production & Design. At the time of incorporation, I was involved or working in many disciplines.
I was working as an Enterprise Application Developer at a major consulting firm during the day. In addition, I taught acting classes under the Meisner Method in the evenings. Meanwhile on weekends you could find me performing improv comedy or squeezing in freelance location audio recording and post-production editing gigs in the local film community.

Polymathus is a made-up word. I created it, based on “polymath,” an individual whose knowledge spans a significant number of subjects, and is known to draw on complex bodies of knowledge to solve specific problems creatively because of it.
How Many Make a Polymath?
There is no limit to the number of fields one could pursue and master as a polymath. There is, however, a very finite number of fields one can be actively participating in at any one moment. That number is one, if you intend to be fully present and successful–at that moment. So the reality of the situation was, the one competency that paid the bills the best garnered the majority of my focus and emerged as a specialty.
I am now at a happy and exciting point of growth and expansion because I have recently been able to put a lot of attention and focus back into my web development skills. As a result, the company is growing again and able to offer several services in web design, application development and search engine optimization strategies.
ReEnergizing Web Development Operations with These Websites
So in this little post update, I will share one or two examples of websites I’ve built recently. I’d love a chance to create a digital world for you or your company, so here’s a look at some before and after scenarios to help you decide if Polymathus is the right fit for you.
The BlackBox Foundation
Here’s a look at the Before & After for The BlackBox Foundation. They are a nonprofit organization with a great mission. The BlackBox Foundation was founded on April 16, 2012 and serves to enhance the quality of life of people in their community by providing them with opportunities to experience the arts through performance and education. Note: the images used for the shows at the bottom of the page are the client’s graphic design, not mine. 😉
J Schaeffer Images | Home
Take a look at the Before & After for J Schaeffer Images, a photography company in Peoria, serving Phoenix, AZ. Yep, it’s also my little sister 🙂 J Schaeffer Images Photography specializes in portrait photography for families, seniors and even your pets.
